Dans le cadre du prix arabe Makeen de lutte contre le tabagisme

As part of the Makeen Arab Award for Tobacco Control, Dr Abeer El-Essawy, head of the award’s general secretariat, honoured Ambassador Ahmed Abbas Al-Hasani, President of the Arab Union for Combating Forgery and Counterfeiting and Iraqi businessman, at the Union’s headquarters. She highlighted his outstanding efforts to ban smoking entirely across his companies and offices to protect the health of employees and visitors.

Ambassador Al-Hasani praised the awareness work of the Iraqi Ministry of Health in cooperation with the Iraqi United Association, described smoking as a scourge that destroys health and burdens the state with the cost of treatment, and, on World No Tobacco Day, called on institutions to enforce smoking bans. The ceremony was attended by Vice-President Hassan Mohamed Hassan and the staff of the Union’s general secretariat.
